Assessment criteria of the projects registered in, “The Young Doctoral Students Olympiad” competition

 

 

·     The assessment criteria of the projects’ content

 

A. A. The scientific merit of the project:

A.1. The scientific importance of the proposed theme: 

· the relevance of the thematic area where the proposed theme fits, against with the dynamic of the scientific research at the international level;

·  the scientific relevance of the proposed theme and the fundamental/applicative research’s character; 

A.2. The information level and the quality of the actual knowledge stage description in the related proposed theme area:  

· the quality and coherency of the description, the areas’ coverage level; the delimitation of the proposed theme inside of the thematic area and its integration overall; 

·  the level, the current and the relevance of the publications that the actual stage description refers at.

A.3. The potential contribution to the scientific theme that is targeted in the project and that is reflected in the originality/innovation level.

· the extent that the targeted contributions from the proposed theme are based on the critic analysis of the current stage of the knowledge and are reported to recent achievements that are quoted in the main flux of publications;

· the originality type and level of the targeted contributions;

· the impact of the targeted contributions;

A.4. The objectives’ clarity, consistency of the associated activities and the feasibility of the potential proposed contributions;

·  The objectives of the project are presented in a clear way and the associated activities are reliable and adequate to them;

·   The realism of the proposed solutions from the following view points: conceptual, of the costs and research term.

 

B.B. The project management:

· There is concordance between the project objectives and the required amount of money and between the activities and the required amounts of money?

· The predicted expenditure are in concordance and completed the imposed facilities by the research theme?

· The way that the results are realized.

 

C.C. Resources

C.1. The human resource 

· The doctoral student has the managerial and scientific competence in order to accomplish the project and is demonstrated by previous researches (master dissertation, member of research teams, and member in research contracts) and/or previous practical achievement with an important level of responsibility? 

C.2. The material resource

· The research infrastructure gives the necessary conditions in order to achive the project?

·  The equipments and facilities that will be used in the project are adequate to the project objectives and also to the necessities coverage level with the existent facilities and equipments­?

C.3. The financial resource

·  The provided budget for the achievement of the project is well elaborated?

·  The financial sums are well distributed within the framework of the budget?

 

 

·        The criteria of the project presentation

                              The slideshow and free presentation way.

 The fairness and accuracy of the research methodological presentation approach.

 The compliance of the given time - twelve minutes maximum.
